It’s late autumn here, we have had rain and so the fungi are out 🙂 🙂 Today I went again to the pine plantation to see what was there and ended up taking lots of pairs of toadstools images.  This is the first of a mini series of posts – I hope you enjoy!
Hello everyone 🙂  It has been overcast, windy and drizzly for what seems an age and so I seem to be in macro mode at the moment.  This is an unusual Chrysanthemum flower from a local florist.  It has bi-coloured petals (a dark cream and light burgundy colour), light on one side and dark on the other, with a wonderful texture and a beautiful whorl at the centre.
Autumn is the time for fungi which I love, but it has been very dry here so the fungi are not as abundant as usual.  We did have some rain last week and so I searched through the pine plantation and did find a few.  This one was upside down, broken by some creature – I was drawn by the texture of the decaying gills and the numerous tiny bugs feasting away – the wonderful cycle of nature 🙂
It has been so dry here, in reality since last September.  Finally over the weekend we got the first of the autumn/winter storms so hopefully some rain is returning.  Whilst I was grateful for the rain, it was not so good for taking images so I ended up mooching about on the back deck during the sunny spells and saw the rain drops on this daisy type plant 🙂
We are heading into late autumn here but this is an image I took during summer last February.  Just after sunrise I spotted this spider repairing her web in beautiful light 🙂  I hope everyone is well!
Hello again to everyone!  A good harvest is safely in (our earliest ever) and now it seems  autumn may be early – everything is out of step.  I took this image yesterday, the Avenue of Honour in Macedon.  I’ve taken an image of this road before (click for link), last time in spring on my converted Nikon D90 in near infrared.  I may be a week too soon for the colours but still very beautiful 🙂
Hello again to everyone!  Firstly apologies to my fellow bloggers that I haven’t commented on any of your posts, but hey at least I’m looking at them, lol!!  Time is very short (as is for everyone).  This post is just to say hello, I’m still here! 😀 Harvest is going to be very early this year so this might be a fleeting moment, very much as this image was…We have had so little rain this summer, but one afternoon last month I saw this feather covered in rain drops on our back deck and thought – macro!  Click on the image for a larger view.
Even after 13 years of Christmas in the southern hemisphere, I still miss the cold and dark of a British Christmas.  Today we went to Musk, near Daylesford for what has become our annual tradition to buy our Christmas tree from the same Christmas tree farm.  In total opposite to the UK, the day was sunny, with blue skies and I was in a t-shirt…just the thing for an image in near infrared 🙂
A very big hello to everyone!!!  It’s been a long time since I last posted, in fact, nearly 6 months!  I hope everyone is well 🙂  A lot has happened since I was last here, as it would be for everyone.  I look forward to catching up with all your posts 🙂  WordPress has had a lot of changes!!  This image was taken yesterday early morning, it’s hot here and the cool of the morning was welcome.  Glad to be back 🙂
