Catching the rays…

Hello everyone!  Even though we are nearly at spring here, today winter is having her last say, we didn’t get above 4C all day and at one point with wind chill it was -6.6C!  Since I last posted I have been back to the UK for a very long overdue visit to see my family which was really fantastic but not so much for photography as the weather, considering it was the northern hemisphere summer, was diabolical!!   However, there were some nice days and the image I am posting today is of a little spider in my mum’s garden.  It was not long after sunrise and I loved the way the light allowed a wonderful view of the spider sitting on her web – the delicate tension waiting for a meal to come along.  Enjoy 🙂

Stained glass…

I’ve been enjoying catching up and seeing everyone’s posts though I don’t have as much time to comment as often as I would like at the moment 🙂

This small dragonfly is one of the treasure trove of summer insects I found in the fog at sunrise the other week.  The delicate wings reminded me of stained glass by the way it was backlit in the swirling fog.

2. Twins…

My second post from the pine plantation – the light was difficult as it was very dark with bright patches of sunlight and as everything was so low to the ground I had to hand hold hence the ISO is high. In the hole of the right hand toadstool is a tiny orange maggot – a home and a meal in one 🙂

Fly fishing?

Yesterday was a day of dramatic thunderstorms.  During the afternoon, before the later storms, it became very hot and humid.  The surface of the dam was busy! (Click on the images for the best view).
