1. The Protector…
It’s late autumn here, we have had rain and so the fungi are out π π Today I went again to the pine plantation to see what was there and ended up taking lots of pairs of toadstools images. Β This is the first of a mini series of posts – I hope you enjoy!

Lucky you… we just had the hottest day ever recorded in India. Parts of India touched 51.5 degrees Celsius
Super photo
Good grief – hottest I experienced here was 47 C with 100 Kph wind – was terrifying. Take care.
You get to 47 in your nick of the world ? I would never have imagined it.
Delhi is 47. Rajasthan is 51.5!
Glad you have had some rain. I hope you didn’t disturb any fairies!
No fairies are all good π
Oh wow, how things change in 3 weeks. Glad you got some rain
It has been good to get the rain – the grass has started to grow again which means less muddy paw prints through the house!!! π
“Mother and daughter.” Lovely shot.
Hard to believe it’s winter in just over a week.
I like “Mother and daughter”. Thank you π Our temps drop hugely next week – Friday is a max of 9 C!
Lovely image. Must have rained some here too as I notice the grass was very green when I went to St Kilda Beach yesterday.
Lovely background tones in your image. Looks like a f1.4 or f1.2 lens/aperture?
Hello Vicki – good you got to get out π Thank you…the lens is a Nikkor 105mm f2.8, really lovely lens though heavy. It’s going to get cold up here during the week and maybe a lot of rain Thursday.
Similar to my Canon 100 f2.8 then. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t traded it, but the 50mm f1.4 does pretty well too. Too windy down the beach for handheld shots yesterday, but I might find 3-4 to post online. All a bit soft (according to my 30 yr old glasses) – hard to tell.
So we’re up for rain are we – should be good for the gardens anyway.
That is brilliant! I have a thing about fungi .. Love the hint of colour on the umbrella .. I’m going to live your series π

Beautiful image, my friend, really good. Adrian
Thank you – glad you liked it π
i like the idea and the title – it says it all
Beautiful. I know you have to get right down to virtually worm’s eye level to get a shot as fantastic as this.
Thank you – yes ended up a very muddy afternoon π
Love it! And such a suiting title:)
