Eventually I have got out to take some images 🙂 It’s late autumn here now but very dry so there isn’t as much fungi as normal.  I did find this old gum tree in the dark shade of the forest which had an explosion of tiny fungi down a branch, much to my delight.  The vibrant green is wet moss  🙂
Hello again everyone!  It is good to be doing a post again 🙂  This image was taken about two weeks ago as one of the last of the finished 2015 Pinot Noir ferments was being pressed off the skins at work.  I used a longer exposure to capture the ‘trails’ of juice as it splashed into the press tray using the available light from an open door.  The fermented wine is now safely in French oak barrels where it will mature for another two years 🙂
Hello again everyone!  Once more, apologies for not responding to comments (I appreciate them!) or liking posts, but at least I’m managing to post for Monochrome Madness, the first week of year two, hosted by the ever hard working Leanne Cole.  I took this nearly a month ago in a landscape shaped by a distant history of volcanoes…the grass is bleached white, it is barren and dry with granite outcrops.  On this day, there were massive clouds moving very quickly causing huge shadow and light contrasts  If you click in, there are cows on the left crest in what I think of as a folded or undulating landscape 🙂
Another quick hello!  Having not had much opportunity to take images of late, I saw this in our garden a few weeks ago just as the last rays of the sun for the day were hitting this little flower (unusual for me, I threw the label away last year when I planted it – doh!).  A wonderful moment with the background in deep shadow and the low angled light picking up detail of the pollen grains and petal texture 🙂
A brief hello again!  The week has been a very sultry and stormy one here, a dramatic end to our official summer.  This image was taken in near infrared late on Saturday afternoon as a storm was building – I love the way clouds render in near IR 🙂 🙂  It is also my submission for Monochrome Madness – week 51 (and a special week coming up next week) hosted by the ever hard working Leanne Cole and published tomorrow (AEDT).
Hello! 🙂  I’ve been absent again and being realistic, with harvest about a month away I’m likely to be sporadic with posts for a while longer.  Apologies to comments I haven’t replied to and people whose posts I would like to comment on…BUT I did manage this entry for MMC 50 on the ever hard working Leanne Cole’s blog! (Published tomorrow AEDT)  Taken last weekend in very hot and thundery weather, I saw these old and broken power poles – the surreal starkness reminding me almost of a Dali painting 🙂
This was taken last week in one of the Chardonnay blocks at work – the lush green canopy was just too perfect not to take in near infrared 🙂
Robyn from Captivate Me included me in the B&W Challenge where you post 5 consecutive B&W images and nominate a person to take up the challenge with each post, so this is my Day 5 of 5  (lol – I got there eventually!!).  In turn, today I am nominating earthSTILLS.  I must stress, this is NOT a have to participate challenge but something that might be fun, but only if you have the time and/or inclination and feel comfortable with it.
This is an image that I am chasing – it isn’t there yet, but it is a start, a line of thought one might say 🙂  It is taken in a huge pine plantation which I need to explore more…the original inspiration came from an image by world renowned photographer Jim Brandenburg.

More often than not, when I capture an image, I already have in my mind if it is going to be black and white or colour. Â This plant (I think is a type of Sedum) was intended to be black and white but I did hesitate when I saw the file as it is a wonderful monochrome of greens. Â It’s shapes I found very beautiful and reminded me of some William Morris designs.
