A few days ago I went to Mount Macedon to capture the sunset. As is the wonderfully fickle weather here, a band of thick fog rolled in just as the sun was setting. However, about 15 minutes before, the light was wonderfully gentle. I liked the golden hues on the grass through the gum trees

Fish on the dam?!
Whispering grass…..
Little and large..
I was brought up on the coast in South Wales, UK and I do miss the sea, so visiting Anglesea was both strangely familiar and yet different. Now living in mountain ranges in the southern hemisphere meant I ended up taking a lot of images that day – there was so much to see (and I didn’t have a macro lens when I lived in the UK)!! There will be more to come…

White horses…
Today we went to Anglesea which is on the Great Ocean Road, in Victoria, Australia. Click on the link to read its amazing history. The waves were big and the wind was up, dramatic scenes and white horses galore!
Sumatran Tigers at Melbourne Zoo.
Last weekend we went to Melbourne Zoo. As regular readers will know, I visit the zoo as often as possible. These tigers are creatures I always make sure that I go to see – I think they are beautiful animals. Sadly, along with many other species, they are critically endangered. According to the WWF, it is estimated that there are less than 400 individuals left in the wild due to deforestation and poaching, which is why, in my opinion, organisations such as Zoos Victoria are so important with their captive breeding programmes. The zoo had four cubs born in February 2010 which can all still be enjoyed there today. Click on each image for a full view.
