As some of you will know I have tried many attempts to photograph the hares I see at work – I find them beautiful but very elusive creatures and have probably hundreds of images of them running away! Yesterday I was a little luckier!….

Wombat 24 Mountain Bike Race
A different sort of post today – it contains people! Yesterday I went to the beautiful Cammeray Waters where the Wombat 24 was taking place. The endurance race lasted for 24 hours and it was a really well organised event with plenty going on. The first image is better in full view so please click.

Here is a gallery of some of the riders

Dwarfed by Giants!
Last week we went to Sherbrooke Forest in the Dandenong Ranges National Park. The forest is of Mountain Ash and tree ferns. The Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans) is the tallest of all flowering plants, growing to 70 to 114 metres (16-49 ft) high and live on average for 400 years. It was a humbling experience walking amongst these living giants.
