Down to the wire…

Hello everyone, I trust all is well 🙂  The image I am posting is from last weekend when we had temperatures down to -5C.  I am always astounded by the beauty of the formation of ice crystals and so this image is of hoar frost on barbed wire.  I also discovered this week that when you try and catch up on the reader, WordPress will actually prevent you from liking when you respond to ‘too many’ posts so apologies to those I have not ‘liked’, but I have seen and appreciated them all 🙂  Click in for a more detailed image.

Web and wires…

Last Tuesday was a glorious morning, the temperature about -4 C and a heavy frost.  It was slightly strange as it had warmed enough to start thawing and then as usual at first light, the temperature dropped, but this time dramatically and refroze everything.  This was taken just after sunrise with the first low rays of light.  I took a heap of images and have only just started sorting so there will be more to come 🙂

Frozen in time..(well at least for this morning!)

Today we had one of the first real big frosts of the year.  The crystals get better as winter goes on but this was a good start! Most of these were taken around dawn so low light levels.

Frost Feathers

Yesterday morning there was a hard frost – yes, winter is on the way!  These formations were on the windows and bonnet of some old cars. It was interesting watching the light – some images were taken just before sunrise and then completely changed as the sun came up illuminating different textures.
