Hello everyone, I’m still in macro mode at the moment so here is an image of the bracts which form the outside of a Protea flower (also sometimes known as sugarbushes). It’s hairy texture is both brilliant and a nightmare for macro as the hairs pick up every speck of dust and dirt. The colour reminded me of the confectionery Turkish Delight hence “Sugar Pink”. Gorgeous. I can almost feel the texture of the bracts – don’t you just love doing macro photography 🙂
Hello Vicki – how miserable is the weather? We got a top of 9 C today! Yes, macro is good 😀
Lisa, absolutely wonderful image – love the shapes and textures and, above all, the colours! Adrian
Thank you as always Adrian, glad you liked it 🙂

Suddenly, I have a desire for some sugar candies. Nice one. 🙂
On catch up again! I hope you had your fix for candies!
Good enough to eat …. but I guess it won’t taste as nice as Turkish Delight! 🙂
Hello Noeline, just for a change I’m on catch up! I loved the colours 😄

It’s my favourite now, love this one! The colour, the texture and composition ❤ ❤
I marvel at these protea flowers so perfectly constructed to withstand the elements. Love your close-up for the textural details.
Thanks – they are amazing, I love how the texture is beautiful but so functional 😀
