Avenue of Honour – MMC 35

This is an image of the Avenue of Honour at Macedon.  An important part of Australian culture, there are 547 known avenues in Australia.  Each tree represents a person who saw or died in wartime service, generally in the First World War.  The planting of this one was initially finished in August 1918 – you can read the local newspaper article here.  Also this is my submission for the 35th Monochrome Madness hosted by Leanne Cole and posted Wednesday mornings (ADST)
