It seems strange but you have somehow captured 2 ‘moods’ of the shrine. The first is so final and sombre, although coloured its resembles ‘lost life’, death and darkness looming in it’s shaded facets.
The second, though monotone, has life emanating from it. Sunshine on it’s face promises future.
For me the second image, because of the sepia? adds a poignant poetical aspect that indeed seems to shine a kind of warmth and hope. There seems a point of light subtly shining from the cross that draws me in to investigate if its really there or am I imagining it? I believe its really there. Very strong images both!
